Warranty Policy
Last updated: 16 March 2026
At Nook Collections, we carefully curate lighting from leading Australian and international designers. We stand behind the quality of the products we supply and are committed to assisting customers should an issue arise. This policy outlines how warranty claims and product concerns are handled for purchases made through Nook Collections Pty Ltd.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
We recommend reviewing the following information before placing an order, as it explains how we manage warranties and product issues. We also recommend review our returns policy here.
To make a warranty claim, please submit a request using our Warranty Claims Form here.
Where appropriate, we highly recommend consulting a licensed electrician prior to purchase to ensure the selected product is suitable for your intended installation environment.
1. Warranty Coverage Period
All lighting products supplied by Nook Collections carry a minimum 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship from the date of purchase, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.
This warranty applies where:
- the product has been installed by a licensed electrician
- the product has been used for its intended purpose
- the product has been installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions and Australian electrical standards
Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.
We may also require proof of work from the licensed electrician you used.
2. What the Warranty Covers
This warranty applies to:
- manufacturing defects
- electrical component failure
- structural defects in materials or workmanship
- faults arising under normal domestic use
If a product is determined to be faulty within the warranty period, Nook Collections may, in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law, choose to:
- repair the product
- replace the product
- supply replacement components
- provide a refund where repair or replacement is not possible
The appropriate remedy will depend on the nature of the fault and the requirements of the Australian Consumer Law.
3. What the Warranty Does Not Apply To
Warranty coverage does not apply to issues caused by:
- incorrect installation
- installation by an unlicensed electrician
- damage caused during installation
- misuse, negligence, or accidental damage
- voltage irregularities or electrical supply issues
- modifications or alterations to the product
- environmental conditions outside the product’s intended use
- normal wear and tear or cosmetic ageing
This includes circumstances where the installation environment is incompatible with the selected product.
For example, products installed in environments exposed to excessive moisture, humidity, condensation, or unsuitable building conditions outside the product’s IP rating or manufacturer specifications may not be covered under warranty.
4. Light Globes and Light Sources
Light globes, LED drivers, and integrated light sources are considered consumable components and do not carry warranty, whether supplied separately or included as part of the product, unless expressly stated by the manufacturer.
Nook Collections does not provide warranty coverage for light sources or globes in any instance.
5. Installation Requirements
Lighting products must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor in accordance with manufacturer instructions and applicable Australian electrical standards.
Customers are responsible for confirming that the selected product is suitable for their installation environment prior to installation.
Site conditions such as:
- ceiling construction
- insulation or vapour barriers
- moisture exposure
- ventilation conditions
- installation clearances
may affect product suitability and performance
Issues arising from building conditions or installation environments are not considered manufacturing faults.
Products should be inspected prior to installation. Installation of a product indicates acceptance that the item is free from visible defects.
Electrical fittings must be installed by a qualified electrician, and any warranty claim must include proof of installation. We are not responsible for, and do not reimburse, electrician costs, including installation, removal, or troubleshooting.
6. Warranty Claims
If you believe your product has a fault, please submit a warranty claim via our Warranty Claims Form and include:
- proof of purchase (including date of purchase & sales order number)
- photographs of the issue
- details of the installation location and conditions
- descriptions of the fault or defect with the product
As part of our assessment, our team may request for additional information, including:
- further photos or videos
- confirmation from the installing electrician
- proof it was installed by a licensed and qualified electrician
- return of the product for inspection
In some cases, products may need to be returned to Nook Collections or the manufacturer for assessment.
Customers are responsible for return freight unless otherwise agreed.
Where a product is confirmed to be faulty under warranty, Nook Collections may cover the freight cost of sending the replacement item.
7. Damaged, Faulty and/or Incorrect or Missing Products
Please inspect all goods immediately upon delivery.
If an item arrives damaged, faulty, or incomplete, please notify our team within 24 hours of delivery and provide photographs of the product and packaging.
Retaining the original packaging assists us in resolving freight claims quickly.
Reporting within this timeframe helps ensure that freight carriers can investigate the issue while the shipment is still traceable.
Damaged items should not be installed.
If the issue is confirmed to have occurred during freight or manufacturing, we will arrange a replacement or other suitable remedy in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.
Change of Mind
Warranty claims are strictly limited to defects in materials or workmanship and do not apply to change of mind, ordering errors, or incorrect product selection.
Due to the nature of the products we sell including items that are imported, made to order, or sourced from specialist suppliers, warranty coverage does not extend to product suitability, installation outcomes, or personal preference after purchase.
Customers are responsible for reviewing product specifications and confirming suitability for their intended installation environment prior to purchase. Where appropriate, we recommend consulting a licensed electrician to ensure compatibility.
Warranty claims will not be accepted where a product is no longer required, unsuitable for the intended space, or does not meet personal expectations after purchase.
Once a product has been installed, it is deemed accepted as suitable, and no warranty claim will be accepted for change of mind, aesthetic preference, or selection-related concerns.
8. Sale and Ex-Display Items
Items purchased during a sale or promotional period are considered final sale and are not eligible for change-of-mind returns. Customers are encouraged to review product specifications carefully and confirm suitability prior to purchase. If a sale item arrives damaged or faulty, please refer to the Freight Damage or Warranty Claims section of this policy.
Ex-display products are items previously used in showroom displays or demonstrations. These products may show minor cosmetic wear, marks, or signs of handling. Ex-display products are sold as seen, and cosmetic imperfections do not constitute faults. All ex-display items are confirmed to be functional at the time of sale.
If a functional fault is identified, it must be reported within 24 hours of delivery or collection so the matter can be assessed.
Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
9. International Orders
For orders shipped outside Australia or New Zealand, change-of-mind returns, exchanges, or refunds are not available.
Products supplied internationally are manufactured to Australian electrical standards. Modifications such as rewiring to meet local electrical requirements may void manufacturer warranties and will be the responsibility of the installer.
Customers are encouraged to contact our team prior to placing an international order to confirm compatibility with local electrical standards.
10. Commercial Installations
Products installed in commercial environments may be subject to different warranty conditions depending on the manufacturer.
Customers planning commercial installations are encouraged to contact our team prior to purchase so the appropriate warranty coverage can be confirmed.
11. Limitation of Liability
This warranty is provided in addition to rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
To the extent permitted by law, Nook Collections will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the use of a product.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- electrician labour costs
- installation or removal costs
- project delays
- loss of use or inconvenience
Where liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, Nook Collections’ liability is limited, at its discretion, to:
- repair of the product
- replacement of the product
- refund of the purchase price
12. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
If a product does not have a major failure but fails to meet acceptable quality standards, you are entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced within a reasonable time.
Nothing in this policy excludes or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
