A Celebration of Authentic Design, Shared Values & Global Synergy
Tucked away on the quiet, cobblestoned stretch of Via Rosolino Pilo - just off the lively Piazza Otto November in Milan’s vibrant Porta Venezia, Convey unfolded as a beautifully curated design experience during this year’s Milan Design Week. Far from the noise, yet deeply connected to the pulse of the design world, the space came alive with over 20 forward-thinking brands that share a commitment to authenticity, connection, and quality.
At its core, Convey isn’t just an exhibition - it’s a movement. A carefully constructed bridge between contemporary design companies and global tastemakers, aiming to foster collaboration and craft the future of international design with shared purpose and intention.
As we walked the space, it didn’t feel like a showcase - it felt like a community. A collective of creators and lovers of design. For us at Nook Collections, this synergy was palpable, and the experience resonated deeply.
Here are a few standout brands and moments that stole our design-loving hearts:
From Lighting
A name that speaks to roots, From Lighting is unapologetically product-led, crafting luminaires that are as iconic as they are intuitive. Made in Italy and inspired by the pulse of contemporary European culture, their lighting isn’t just functional - it’s poetic.
Their pieces invite interaction, shaping environments with elegant gestures. Take the Tiro lamp, for example — an adjustable suspension design in aluminium and glass that makes a simple click feel like a quiet ritual. Lighting, redefined.

Vero International
With a firm commitment to craftsmanship, Vero’s ceramic pieces are born from a fascinating blend of 3D modelling and traditional Italian production. Finished in glossy glazes, each piece is not only food-safe but emotionally resonant - tactile, sculptural, and beautifully versatile.
These aren’t just ceramics; they’re objects of presence and poise - the kind that elevate both your shelf and your supper.
Fundamental Berlin
Founded by architects Gunnar Rönsch and Stephen K. Molloy, Fundamental Berlin blurs the lines between science, art, and design. Their work draws from nature’s mathematical patterns and reduces each design to one core material - making the pieces easy to recycle, service, and fall in love with.
Collaborating with small, craft-focused factories, they produce objects that feel both luxurious and grounded, marrying material honesty with a modern sensibility.
DANTE
What if furniture could make you feel something deeper? That’s the mission behind DANTE - Goods and Bads, founded by Aylin Langreuter and Christophe de la Fontaine. Their designs transcend utility, inviting emotional connections through wit, comfort, and memory.
We were especially taken by their bold approach to outdoor furniture - a category typically rooted in durability, now infused with a sense of narrative and joy. Playful yet profound.
Parachilna – Our Highlight
Of course, we have to shine a spotlight on Parachilna, the Spanish lighting brand we proudly represent as the official Australian importer. While we already showcase some of their pieces in our Surry Hills showroom, seeing the full collection in Milan in person was a true privilege.
One standout? The Oiphorique lamp - a personal favourite of both Monica and myself. It's not just a lamp; it's an experience. Its soft glow, scale, and fluid movement push the boundaries of what lighting can be.
Then there’s the Gweilo, a timeless sculpture of light we hold dear, now seen in its full floor-lamp glory. And their latest launch, Torpudo, continues their tradition of innovation with a mysterious presence that demands attention. As they put it: “Closer to the source, the stronger the presence.”
