Monica (founder of Nook) and Teagan (our marketing manager) recently touched down in Milan for a whirlwind week immersed in the brilliance of Milan Design Week. From the glowing halls of Euroluce at Salone del Mobile to the hidden gems scattered across the city’s buzzing design districts, every corner sparked something new.
What followed was a week bursting with craftsmanship, creativity, and pure design magic - all set against the backdrop of Milan’s iconic architecture, fashion, and, of course, food. In just seven days, we soaked up a year’s worth of inspiration.
Now, in this three-part series, we’re unpacking it all, from the standout lighting moments to the showrooms that stole our hearts. Consider this your backstage pass to the people, places, and pieces that lit a fire in us.
This year, Salone del Mobile.Milano celebrated its
63rd edition, and it did not disappoint. With over 302,000 attendees
from all over the world, the fair remains a pinnacle event in the global design
calendar. Among its many highlights was Euroluce, the International
Lighting Exhibition, which made a triumphant return. Spanning over 32,400
sqm, Euroluce showcased 306 exhibitors, with nearly half of them
coming from outside Italy - a testament to the international pull of Milan’s
design scene.
The 63rd edition of the Salone del Mobile was a beacon in a 2025 riddled with global challenges: it demonstrated strength and shared vision.
While Salone del Mobile lights up the halls, Fuorisalone brings the city to life. Since 2003, Fuorisalone.it has been the go-to platform for everything happening outside the fairgrounds - and this year, it was more vibrant than ever. Monica and Teagan took to the streets of Milan, weaving through buzzing crowds, long queues, and tucked-away courtyards to uncover installations, sculptures, and art that pushed the boundaries of design. Yes, there were sore feet, but there was also awe. The creativity spilling from every corner of the city wasn’t just inspiring - it was unforgettable. What we experienced on those cobbled streets will continue to spark our imagination long after the week has ended.
And we didn’t stop there, from Salone to
Fuorisalone, we took some time to appreciate our Italian brands a bit deeper.
By spending a few hours visiting showrooms from Nemo Lighting to Artemide,
Fontana Arte to Panzeri. We then had the fortunate opportunity to visit the factory
of Artemide – which all we can say is unbelieveable. The care, the quality and
the passion from everyone that works within the brand is next to none. Check
