Flora, the newest culinary expression from the Paisano and Daughters group, is more than a restaurant - it's a radiant, vegetarian-forward homage to sustainable living and bold seasonal flavours. Located on Australia Street in Newtown, Flora is the first of three sister venues to the beloved Continental Deli. Designed by Killing Matt Woods and beautifully photographed by Lucia Braham, the space offers a welcoming, earthy aesthetic that reflects its botanical inspiration.
As described by Woods, Flora's journey to completion was not without drama. "Councils battled, and heritage navigated. Flood, fire, engineers, false messiahs, and tribulation before the rapture," he recounts - a testament to the creative resilience behind this project. The result is a grounded yet elegant interior that feels both fresh and timeless. Natural textures, botanical artwork, and thoughtful architectural detail converge to create a tranquil dining experience rooted in connection to the land.
