The Otis Wall Light featured in Three Birds Renovations' Pearl Beach House project

Tucked away on the Central Coast of New South Wales, the Eclectic Escape represents a 12-week transformation by the visionaries at Three Birds Renovations. What was once a weather-worn holiday home burdened by significant storm damage, has been reimagined as a sun-soaked sanctuary where every corner radiates the warmth of a coastal summer.

The brief was as liberating as it was specific: the owners granted Three Birds total creative freedom to build a home designed for afternoon naps and effortless entertaining - with the only caveat being "no red allowed".

Where Nostalgia Meets Modern Light

The resulting home is a joyful masterclass in colour-drenched design and tactile materiality. Each room serves as a playful nod to summer nostalgia, featuring dreamy hues of butter yellow, pastel blue and soft orange. At Nook Collections, we believe lighting is the final, essential layer that breathes life into a designer's vision and it was a privilege to see our pieces used to punctuate these expressive spaces.

In the Eclectic Escape, lighting was used intentionally to add warmth and quiet character.

The Otis Wall Light carefully placed against butter-yellow walls to cast a soft, welcoming glow that complements the home’s playful textures. The Ibiza Wall Light set against soft blue walls to provide a natural layer of warmth, grounding the space with an easy, coastal feel. By keeping cabinetry profiles simple, the team used beautiful hardware and lighting - including pendants and wall sconces - to elevate the home's charm while keeping the project on budget.

This project is a compelling example of how lighting can amplify the storytelling within a home, turning a tired structure into a place that makes you smile the moment you arrive.

By integrating these wall sconces, Three Birds Renovations achieved a glow-up that feels both high-end and lived-in.

It’s a testament to the idea that when vision meets intentional lighting, a house becomes more than just a renovation - it becomes a feeling.

Otis Wall Light

In the butter-yellow main bedroom, the Otis Wall Light was chosen to do more than just illuminate; it was selected to enhance the room's playful, nostalgic soul.

Used as a bedside light, it eliminates the need for bulky lamps, maintaining clean, clever lines.
Its soft, welcoming glow dances across the color-drenched walls, beautifully complementing the mix of playful textures throughout the space.
It acts as a sculptural anchor, proving that even a simple fixture can punctuate a room with significant charm.

Ibiza Wall Light

For the main bedroom's powder room draped in soft blue, the Ibiza Wall Light provides the perfect counterpoint to the cool, breezy palette.

The Ibiza adds a natural layer of warmth, ensuring the coastal feel remains cosy rather than cold.
Its ambient glow is designed to soften the space, making it the ideal companion for those long afternoon naps the owners dreamed of.
With its understated form, it brings a sense of quiet character that allows the room's eclectic elements to shine without competing for attention.
