Project: The Green Room at Tudorlea

The Green Room at Tudorlea by Studio Esar is a meticulous reimagining of a 1935 English Tudor home, where heritage and contemporary refinement converge in quiet harmony.

Rich with character, the home reveals its grandeur through a careful layering of old and new. The spatial journey unfolds with measured drama - a grand entry hall invites a moment of pause before opening into light-filled living and dining zones, alongside more intimate private retreats, designed for connection, restoration, and modern family living.

The Green Room at Tudorlea

A Sculptural Moment of Light

Within the living room - the green room at Tudorlea - the atmosphere shifts.

Moody. Cocooning. Unapologetically dramatic.

Here, light is not simply functional - it becomes deeply atmospheric. Rich green tones and layered textures absorb and reflect illumination in a way that creates depth, intimacy, and a sense of quiet retreat.

At the centre of this space, the Puppet Chandelier introduces a sculptural presence that feels both expressive and refined. Suspended with quiet confidence, it anchors the room within its darker palette - its soft, diffused glow cutting through the mood with warmth and precision.

The piece draws the eye upward, enhancing the architectural volume while reinforcing the emotional tone of the space. In this setting, the chandelier is not just seen, it is felt.

Living Room Lighting

Choosing the Right Chandelier

In a living room, lighting defines more than visibility - it shapes atmosphere.

A chandelier acts as both a functional light source and a sculptural focal point, anchoring the space and setting the overall tone. The key is balance.

Designer & Modern Chandeliers Collection

Three key elements:

  • Scale and proportion should respond to the room. Larger, multi-drop designs suit higher ceilings or voids, while more compact forms work beautifully in more intimate settings.
  • Material and light quality play a crucial role. Glass diffuses light softly, creating a warm, ambient glow - ideal for living spaces where comfort and mood take priority.
  • Placement should feel intentional, often centred within the room or aligned with the main seating area, helping define the space within an open-plan layout.

Layering remains essential. Pairing a chandelier with floor or wall lighting allows the room to shift effortlessly from functional to atmospheric.
