Nestled in the heart of Newtown, Mister Grotto is the latest culinary destination from the Paisano and Daughters group. A 30-seat seafood restaurant with a flair for the theatrical, Mister Grotto draws you into a maritime world where the ambiance is as rich and textured as the dishes it serves. At the heart of this immersive space is a commitment to thoughtful, evocative design—and we're proud to have played a part in shaping its atmosphere with our Torino Pendant Lights.
The space was brought to life by the visionary Killing Matt Woods, who was tasked with a singular brief: transform 208 Australia Street into the interior of a ship. As he puts it, "There are times when you have to loosen your grip on the rudder and let [the client’s] ideas take the helm." The result is a moody, maritime interior layered with briny textures and deep ocean hues, evoking the hull of a weathered vessel. It is both cozy and adventurous - a modern-day grotto, where diners are safely tucked away from the bustle of the outside world.
Photographed beautifully by Lucia Braham, the space glows with an undercurrent of elegance and grit. Much of that ambiance is brought to life through lighting. Our Torino Pendant Lights were hand-selected for the space - a decision rooted in their bold aesthetic and quality craftsmanship.
